Home Office funding received by the Katherine Low Settlement (community centre & charity) has been used to train local volunteers to become FGM champions, their role is to raise awareness and promote discussion about this important issue.
The champions are able to come out to a variety of settings in Wandsworth, including schools, colleges, community groups and any other organisation that may be interested in hosting a workshop/discussion.
The content of the sessions can be tailored to the specific audience and can include specific sessions on health, social and religious aspects, as well as the essential information regarding the practice and the law.
Contact Sarah Rackham at the Katherine Low Settlement to find out more, or book a session ( before end March 2016)
