We have compiled lists of resources for parents and carers to use with their children whilst at home. There are lots of resources available outside of the ones listed here, but we'll keep adding more as we find them.
Please note that, unless run by the Council, these websites and services are not endorsed by Wandsworth Council. Please use your own judgement when using any of them.
For families who are struggling to stay connected, Power to Connect by Battersea Power Station and Wandsworth Council are taking donations of fully-working laptops and tablets that can be refurbished and given to those who don't have access to one.
Learning resources:

- Free education resources across all key stages from Twinkl
- Online tuition (you need Nextdoor to access the group)
- Activities for young people from Literacy Trust
- Handpicked, online lessons from CK12 covering lots of subjects
- Free, live and interactive cooking classes
- Brain Pop have loads of free lessons across all subjects
- BBC Bitesize are a study support resource. They also have daily online lessons for years 1-10
- Educational videos for children and adults alike from The Kid Should See This
- Maths games and activities for ages 5-18
- Plenty of STEM related activities and lessons from stem.org.uk for the whole family
- The Day are sending out a daily newsletter to parents which includes a summary of the current news, a topic you can discuss with your child/ren, and an activity suitable for each key stage. You have to sign up to receive it
- The James Dyson Foundation have created challenge cards to get young minds thinking about engineering
- No Time for Flashcards have lots of learning activities for preschool age children
- White Rose maths are making 5 videos a week of maths you can do with years 1-8
Entertainment / activity resources:
- Audible are offering hundreds of children's story books for free
- If you have a Wandsworth library card you can still access ebooks and audiobooks using your membership number and PIN. You can even sign up if you don't already have a library card, then email the temporary code to libraries.administration@gll.org to receive your membership number
- There are rhyme time and storytime videos on the children's librarians' Facebook pages: Heather, Carolyn and Kate
- And even more on Wandsworth Librarians' Facebook page, and Wandsworth Town Library's page too
- Boogie Mites London have live music and movement sessions, along with free songs and early years music tips on their Facebook page
- Edinburgh Zoo are streaming live videos of some of their animals
- Over 100 indoor activities to do with your children from The Best Ideas for Kids
- Have a look at Contact Wandsworth's Boredom Buster flyer to find some activities to do inside
- An enormous list of things to do inside with your family including virtual tours, lessons and music performances
- The National Trust have a list of 50 things to do in your garden, as all of their parks are closed
- Affordable Art Fair are producing free kids art packs each week so you can get arty at home
- Battersea Power Station have made a list of boredom busters, with new activities added every Friday
- Hobbycraft have a great selection of crafty activities to do with kids
- Family Support in Hammersmith and Fulham have a virtual centre for families with information and resources, as well as lots of videos with activities for children
- The Royal Albet Hall are putting on Royal Albert Home, with artists sharing their work from their own homes. All streams are free.
Fitness resources:
- Fitness workouts from The Body Coach
- More family fitness on YouTube from Fit SW11
- Sadler's Wells are doing free ballet workshops for 2-6 year olds
- Powerful Kids by Jane Wake are short activity videos that incorporate learning into exercises
- Little Gym at Home brings the gym to your living room for your little ones
Wellbeing resources:
- The Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust put together a useful daily routine you can implement with your family if you are isolating.
- Talk Wandsworth are still offering free, confidential help for a range of issues over the phone or Skype
- Families Under Pressure have a useful website parents and carers can work through if they are struggling with behaviour and negative emotions from their child
- Catch-22 are still providing counselling and support for young people with alcohol / drug dependancies and emotional health difficulties over the phone
- Catch-22 have also put together some helplines, apps and wellbeing resources for parents and young people
- Cedar House Support Group are still offering their post-natal depression support groups free of charge but now online. Please email them to find out more
- The government have published advice on how to look after your own, and your children's mental health during the outbreak
- Nuffield Health have wellbeing challenges and activities to keep young minds healthy
- Some tips for young people to keep feeling good during lockdown.
- Young Minds mental wellbeing charity have tips and guidance on supporting your / your child's mental health
- Nosy Crow have published a book answering questions about coronavirus for 5 to 9 year olds that is free to download
- Elsiestayshome.com also have a lovely book for preschool-aged children called "Coronawho"
