Whatever your, or your child's exact diagnosis, there are several sources of support in Wandsworth.
There are as many different forms of these conditions as there are people with them, so no single list or leaflet will be able to show you everything. Things also change with age, gender and other differences. This is just a start.
Age 0-8 years, much of your support will be from one or more of the services at the Early Years and Intervention Support Service at Siward Road.
Age up to 18 years, diagnosis and support may come from:
- the Children's Development Centre at St George's Hospital,
- the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service at Springfield Hospital, referral through the ACCESS Child and Youth Mental Health Service or
- from the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) & Learning Disabilities Service, also at Springfield Hospital.
As well as these services, there are local independent, voluntary, charitable organisations which can help. These include:
- Contact- Wandsworth, who offer parenting groups (Cygnet and CATS), assist claiming Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Family Fund grants, offer short breaks and much more.
- Wandsworth Information Advice and Support Service (WIASS), offer advice on Education Health and Care Plans, assessments of SEN, exclusion.
- A2ndVoice parent led group for anyone living with autism and associated conditions.
