Guide to Short Breaks-Activities for children, young people and their families

Guide to Ghort Breaks 2018 to 2019

Short breaks are intended to give parents and carers of children with disabilities and special needs the chance to have a “break” from their caring responsibilities, to rest, spend time with their other children, or to enjoy a leisure activity themselves.

The Guide to Short Breaks-Activities for children, young people and their families, sets out what is currently available.  *Additional activities added to the programme during the year are posted on the Local Offer website and information about them is sent to members of the Disabled Children's Register and WAND+ scheme.

*As we have recently updated and improved this website, none of the urls in the Guide will work.  When you find a suitable break that does not need an additional assessment, please find them on this website by inserting the name into the keywords box, or go direct to the list of Short Breaks.

Where you need more information about an assessed short break - social care - please go to the list of Social Care, or speakto your social worker in the 0 to 25 Disabilities Team.
