Short breaks are intended to give parents and carers of children with disabilities and special needs the chance to have a “break” from their caring responsibilities, to rest, spend time with their other children, or to enjoy a leisure activity themselves.
The Guide to Short Breaks-Activities for children, young people and their families, sets out what is currently available. *Additional activities added to the programme during the year are posted on the Local Offer website and information about them is sent to members of the Disabled Children's Register and WAND+ scheme.
When you find a suitable break that does not need an additional assessment, please find them on this website by inserting the name into the keywords box, or go direct to the list of Short Breaks.
