Platform One Café

Platform One Café in Clapham Junction is a training Café for people with learning disabilities run by the Camden Society. If you would like to work in catering or want to find out what it's like to have a job, you can come to Platform 1 to get that experience.
The Café offers catering training and employment services to help people with learning disabilities train for work and get vocational qualifications.
You can learn how to:
- Prepare food
- Cook a range of meals and snacks
- Serve customers
- Prepare for events and parties
- Keep the Café looking great
- Learn about Food Hygiene and Healthy eating
To get started, the first thing to do is to contact Platform One and arrange a visit. You can also have a 'taster' day at the Café to see if you like it. If you want to start training, they will put a plan together with you. The training aims to meet your needs and help you to get some skills and experience you need to start work. Trainees can choose to attend for one or more days per week.
Trainees can join Platform One Café's training programme and get practical experience and qualifications in catering and hospitality to kick start a career in the catering industry.
