UK Safer Internet Centre
The UK Safer Internet Centre provides e-safety tips, advice and resources to help children and young people stay safe on the internet.
The website provides help and support to young people; parents and carers; practitioners, teachers and professionals.
- For children and young people the website provides information on how to make the best use of the internet whilst keeping safe online.
- For parents and carers there is advice and resources available about how to support children to stay safe online; how to set up the parental controls offered by internet providers; and a Parent's Guide to Technology.
The Safer Internet Centre also provides a helpline for practitioners working with children and young people, specifically tackling the area of e-safety. The Helpline provides support with all aspects of digital and online issues such as social networking sites, cyber-bullying, sexting, online gaming and child protection online. In addition the Helpline aims to resolve issues professionals face about themselves, such as protecting professional identity and reputation, as well as young people in relation to online safety.
