Rainbow Trust Children's Charity
Rainbow Trust Children's Charity provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness.
Families who have a child or young person up to the age of 18 with a life threatening or terminal condition are eligible for the services offered by the charity.
The Rainbow Trust's family support workers offer practical help:
- at home and in the community;
- in hospital;
- to siblings of a sick child; and
- when a family suffers a bereavement.
Anyone can make a referral to Rainbow Trust as long as it is with the knowledge and permission of the family involved. A referral can be made either in writing or by telephone. Following a referral, an assessment visit will be arranged and the family’s individual circumstances discussed. Once the assessment is complete, if appropriate, services will be organised and provided. In a crisis situation, support can be provided within 24 hours of a referral being received.
