Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) - Springfield Hospital

This is a multi-disciplinary service providing a specialised service for children and young people with severe, complex and persistent mental health disorders. It provides a comprehensive (Tier 3*) assessment and treatment service.

This service is for children and young people up to the age of 18 registered with a Wandsworth GP, their families and/or carers across the borough, focusing on those with severe and enduring mental health problems.

If you want a referral to CAMHS, you need to contact the ACCESS Child and Youth Mental Health Service who are the single point of referral, providing access to help for children and young people in Wandsworth up to the age of 18 years, who may have mental health needs.

ACCESS and Wandsworth CAMHS are not emergency services.  If you have a child or young person who requires emergency assistance, then contact the child’s GP or go to the A&E Department at St George’s Hospital in Tooting, London SW17.

CAMHS Team members include child and adolescent psychiatrists, social workers, clinical psychologists, community psychiatric nurses, child psychotherapists, occupational therapists, art, music and drama therapists.

What is Wandsworth’s Local Offer ?

This service is for children and young people up to the age of 18 registered with a Wandsworth GP, their families and/or carers across the borough, focusing on those with severe and enduring mental health problems.

There are two main referral routes into the service. Clinician/Professional referral and self-referral.

  • Referrals from professionals should be sent using the Early Help IT System (EHITS).
  • Professionals without access to the EHITS system can send referrals via fax or letter. Contact details for referrals are Telephone 020 3513 6631
  • Parents, carers or young people can refer themselves to this service by telephone, letter or email via the ACCESS Team.
