The Junction Health Centre

The Junction Health Centre is an NHS clinic run by Care UK. It combines the services of a traditional GP Practice with a walk-in health centre. It is open seven days a week, 8am-8pm, including bank holidays. The last registered walk in appointment is at 7:30pm.

To attend The Junction Health Centre GP practice, you must live in the practice area and register with a GP there.

Contact the health centre and ask to register with them. They will ask you to complete a form called a GMS1, giving details such as:

  • your name and address
  • your date of birth
  • your NHS number (if you know it)
  • other information, such as the name and address of your previous GP

Walk-in centres offer fast and convenient access to a range of NHS services.

Most people can use the clinic. However, they will not treat pregnant women, patients with chronic illnesses, male urinary tract infections and they cannot supply repeat prescriptions.

Services at the walk-in centre include:

  • treatment of minor illness or injury, without long waits in A&E;
  • access to emergency contraception;
  • advice on healthy living and mental health; and
  • a staff of experienced nurses who can all supply and administer specific medication; a large number of the team are also qualified to prescribe.

If your problem is long-term, please see your GP. If it is immediately life-threatening, call 999 or visit the A&E department.

Please contact the The Junction Health Centre for further information.
