Support during the Coronavirus pandemic

As the country adjusts to the next phase of the pandemic with the gradual easing of the lockdown and the re-opening of some schools/ Nurseries, the Autism Advisory Service are evolving our support for schools/ settings and families accordingly.

Our offer of support

Daily telephone consultations for parents/carers including the option of evening phone calls (9am-10pm), please email leaving your name and contact number and a preferred time and one of the team will call you back.

Advice and consultation for any professionals supporting autistic children e.g.  teachers, SENCOs, social workers, youth workers, please email  to schedule a telephone consultation

Is your child joining Reception this September? If so, please see our information leaflet about this in "downloads".

For all parents  - Top Tips for Preparing your Child or Young Person for Returning to School in "downloads".

Parent/Carer training around managing challenging behaviour workshops that had been scheduled for March, were cancelled and we have adapted this to create a shorter training course that is suitable to be delivered online. The training consists of 3 online sessions. The webinars have been recorded and are available on YouTube.

In response to need for more direct intervention we are introducing “Online Solution Circles” which will be led by members of the psychology team and will bring together parents and professionals to find solutions to “stuck situations”. These are being offered as virtual face to face small group appointments. See flyer for more details. Please email  to request an online appointment.
