Smallwood Children's Centre

In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, children's centres in Wandsworth have closed until have further notice.

 

The Children’s Centre is for all parents and carers of children under the age of 5. You will find a welcoming space where you and your child can have fun and learn.

The benefits of attending a Children’s Centre include:

  • you can make friends;
  • you can learn to play creatively with your child
  • doing things with your child can bring you closer
  • you can improve your parenting skills
  • training courses can help you back into the world of work
  • you can have fun knowing that your child is nearby and being properly cared for
  • some run groups for parents of special needs children or for young parents; and
  • you can get support with family problems

To use the centre you can simply drop in, though some activities may require booking. The activities are free and list of activities taking place at the Children’s Centre can be found below. Please note that the centre is closed for lunch between 12:30 and 1:00pm.

To register with a Children's Centre please fill in the registration form under 'Downloads' and return it to the Children's Centre.

All Family Music Time Sessions have been cancelled

Monday

  • The first session Stay Play and Learn is at Hillbrook and NOT Balham. This session starts on Monday 13th January.
  • 10am Fantastic Two’s at Franciscan has been cancelled this term. Please contact Hillbrook Children's Centre if you are eligible for two-year-old funding and would like to attend their session on Tuesdays: 10am - 11:30am.
  • 1.30pm Stay Play and Learn at Fayland is no longer available.
  • 1.30pm Developmental Reviews at Fayland are no longer available.
  • 12pm-3pm at Fayland a Parenting Group will be available – Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities – Please contact the Children’s Centre Team for details
  • 3.30pm Behaviour Advice is at Balham Children’s Centre and NOT Nightingale Square

Tuesday

  • 9.30am ESOL is at Fayland and NOT Franciscan
  • 12pm Meet the Psychologists is at Franciscan and NOT Fayland
  • 12.45pm ESOL is at Franciscan and NOT Fayland

Wednesday

  • 10am Fantastic Twos at Balham will not take place. The session will now be on a Friday afternoon 1.30pm-2.45pm

Thursday

  • 9.30am Teaching Assistant Course is no longer available
