Linsey Flores

My service offers childcare for Babies and toddlers Term-time only. I take children out to local parks, (Furzedown rec, Tooting bec common & Morden hall park), local playgroups, children centres and the local library to ensure children have the chance to explore as much outside and generally having lots of fun using the out door resources at the park and enjoying the nature. I fully understand learning through play the children learn social skills such as sharing, taking turns and how to help and care for one another. Being out and about helps them learn important life skills awareness such as of road safety, stranger danger, and healthy living. I am a strong believer with communication and language talking to children, sensory play, reading books, story telling and doing creative play, mark-making with little ones supporting early language development, and helping children develop their creativity and imagination. Parents will have memories of their child's achievements as I take photos, do daily diary records and observations. I love to make a difference into the lives of young children.

EXPERIENCES:

**************

I am a mother of 5 who has many years of my own personal experiences, being a mother and learning many skills on how to bring up a little person has been life changing.

Learning how to nurture all my children from birth was a day by day experience and making sure we had a structured routine everyday to help myself and my children learn a few things with each other whether it's a life base skill or just being creative and having lots of fun and laughter to just feel happy and loved together.

Being a mother has made me a more loving, responsible and a confident person. Appreciating life with them and knowing the importance of how to keep my children safe, loved and happy. Helping them all in their key stages and getting to know them individually and knowing their interests, comforts and needs of support and giving them the best possible advice and support for their key stages in there learning and development skills they need.
Being a parent is challenging but keeps me grounded and I appreciate all the attention and love I get from my children.

****************************************

*Learning childcare has also given me a greater knowledge and confidence in understanding how to care and support the needs for children in their learning and developments especially in the early years stages for children.

****************************************

*I have Volunteering experiences doing a Induction Training Volunteering for Wandsworth Children's centre and have been awarded a Certificate of achievement and I also had another volunteer experience working in a local primary school in their Reception year childcare setting.

****************************************

*My experience working as an Maternity healthcare assistant for 11 years has allowed me to gain skills in supporting first time mothers including fathers who need extra help after delivering their baby with in hospital environment;

-Support with Breastfeeding,

-Helping with basic support handling the baby for the first time,

-Bathing baby,

-Changing baby into baby clothes,

-Changing nappies,

- Bottle feed baby,

- Support how to burp their new baby and

- Theatre training was one of my favourite places to work in, in the Maternity wards which I found very interesting. Working along with the scrub nurses and other NHS professionals. Doing important routined operational care supporting during active Caesarean section.

*Trainings and working in Hospital environment caring for mothers and babies was a wonderful experience supporting parents with care for their baby is a honour and seeing a life changing experience for first time parents was a joy. Working in the health care has definitely tought me alot in care support and to appreciate my family life and my children.
