Multi Agency Complex Needs Panel (MACNP)

MACNP is not a service. It is made up of teams of professionals from Local Authority and Health specialist services for children and young people 0 to 5 years old, with complex or significant needs who live in Wandsworth, and for children up to age 8 years with social communication needs. Appropriate referrals are discussed by the Deputy Head of Early Years and the Specialist Health Visitor for Children with special needs, once a week during term time only, and are forwarded to the most appropriate teams in Early Years and Health.

  • Advisory & Inclusion Team
  • Pre-School Complex Speech and Language Specialist Team including Feeding services
  • Portage Service
  • Early Support
  • Parent & Child Development (PCD)
  • Physiotherapy in St George's Hospital
  • OT and Physiotherapy in Queen Mary's Hospital
  • Developmental Paediatric Team in St George's Hospital

Each appropriate team will make direct contact with the family regarding the referral.

Family contact details from all MACNP referrals will also be shared with the two services below, who can contact the family to inform them of the services they offer:

  • Enhanced Children's Centre at West Hill Primary School (a specialist children's centre for children aged 0-5yrs with a disability, special need or complex medical need)
  • Contact - Wandsworth (information and support for families with a disabled child or young person up to 25 years old)

A practitioner who wants to make a referral should send the required information to Single Point Referral Service (SPRS) based in Child Development Centre (CDC) in St. George’s Hospital, requesting MACNP.

Local Offer

Description

What is Wandsworth’s Local Offer ?

To use this provision, a professional who already works with a child or knows the child will discuss the child’s needs with a parent and record it on an Early Help (EH) form electronically or on paper. This is known as an Early Help Assessment (EHA). With parent’s/carer's permission the EHA will be stored and shared with relevant services that may provide support. The EHA should give enough information about the child’s needs to enable professionals to make a decision about which services are most suitable to support the child.

A referring professional should also enclose any other relevant documents e.g. medical reports, school observation notes. If the child has already been assessed by a social worker then the social work assessment can be used instead but needs to include information about child’s development. In some circumstances, EH form may not be necessary. Please contact Single Point Referral Service (SPRS) for more information CDCreferrals@nhs.net

Professionals working with families in Wandsworth can make a referral using an Early Help Assessment via EHITS.

A practitioner, who wants to make a referral should send the required information to Single Point Referral Service (SPRS) based in Child Development Centre in St. George’s Hospital.

If a referral is appropriate for MACNP, it will be processed and forwarded to MACNP for discussion. With parental consent, information will be shared with services listed above in the process.

Please send any complaints, concerns or compliments regarding MACNP to Susan Reid, the panel Chair and deputy Head of Early Years and Intervention Support Service on 020 8871 8789 or via email susan.reid@richmondandwandsworth.gov.uk
