Hearing Support Service Wandsworth (WHSS)

Wandsworth Hearing Support Service (WHSS) provides information, resources and support for hearing impaired children and young people (0-25 years old) and their families, carers and teachers.
The service provides comprehensive support for hearing-impaired (HI) and deafblind children (MSI, Dual SI) and young people (0-25) who live in Wandsworth or attend a Wandsworth nursery or school. We work in a number of settings including:
- The Willow Hearing Support Centre at Sellincourt School for hearing-impaired children aged 3 to 11 years
- The Rowan Hearing Support Centre at Southfields Academy for hearing-impaired children and young people aged 11 to 19 years
- St Georges Hospital Department of Audiology-Supporting the auditory implant program
- Linden Lodge School - For children with multisensory impairment
WHSS supports hearing impaired children from the time of diagnosis (within 24 hours) and continue this work until the child reaches adulthood. We provide individual assessment, advice and programmes of intervention for hearing -impaired children and young people depending on their level of need. Our work is tailored to each individual child and family.
We provide specialist support, parent guidance and training to parents/carers from diagnosis until the child reaches adulthood.

We have an open referral system which means we take referrals from parents and professionals. Please email to request a referral form. We require an audiological assessment from a registered Audiologist before we can carry out an individual assessment and intervention. We can give you information on how to obtain this.
