Law Workshop: SEND Transition to Adulthood
Topic: SEND Transition to Adulthood
Date: Tue, 29 June 2021
Time: 18:00 – 20:00 BST
As young people move from school age into adulthood they need to make lots of choices. Young people with SEN or disability may need extra help to make these choices. At SEN Talk, we recognize the ubiquitous lack of advice and support available for these young people in particular.
This workshop endeavours to provide an overview of legal rights and duties in respect of children transitioning from child to adult services. We will consider those children leaving education and consider the impact of EHCPs and decision making in this respect and the transition to adult services, to include assessments, eligibility, and mental capacity in respect of adult health and social care.
