Active Art Holiday Club

Active Art brings ideas to life. We provide art and design education for young people in South London. We enhance creative ideas, develop practical skills and work with a range of techniques from observational drawing, mixed media, traditional drawing techniques, sculptural making, animation, and film.

We hold inspirational courses and workshops at Naturescope to bring the world of Art & Design, Nature & Ecology and Science to a young audience. Using performance, physical and large scale making, animation, image making and puppetry. Working with artists, designers, animators and film makers to bring ideas to life to explore creative solutions.

Weeks 1 and 2:

Roll up roll up to join the Greatest Showman troupe at the Circus.
Our summer Art Project celebrates the Big Top taking adventures with clowns, acrobats, trained animals, trapeze acts, musicians, dancers, hoopers, tightrope walkers, jugglers, magicians, unicyclists, as well as stunt- artists. We will be making 3d sculptures, making and design our own costumes, and inventing acts, creating mini big tops and theatres and painting and drawing amazing sets, all to celebrating the visual energy of the circus. So come and join the fun.

Weeks 3 and 4:

It's carnival time...
Join our Art Project celebrating Street Art, we will be designing murals, 3d sculpture, floats and carnival costumes, theatrical masks, decorative drums and carnival kings and queens. Using tons of cardboard, mixed media, print, collage, model making and plenty of vibrant making. We will be integrating our amazing wearable art into our murals to record the day. Come join the Carnival...

Animation Camp Weeks 1 - 4:

A summer animation camp, full of animated activities, themed around Light up London. We will be exploring ideas around London from trooping of the colours to iconic London cabs and the famous red bus, London celebrations, London history and London building and skyline to conjure up, story telling, characters, model making, performance and cut out animation. We will be using and teaching current technology to create our own sound effects and editing our final films. Come and 'Light Up London'.
