One Trust Battersea Community Social Base

Battersea Community Social Base offers a range of day activities for adults with learning disabilities. The base is part of One Trust, a charity that specialises in personalised services with a community focus.

Battersea Base is housed in a shared space at the Wilditch community centre and supports individuals with a wide range of abilities and needs.  A stone’s throw from Battersea Park and the River Thames, the group are perfectly positioned to take advantage of all that London has to offer.

Activities are flexible depending on local events and personal choices.  The Battersea Base provides a range of spaces including a kitchen, sports hall and activity rooms.  The base is fully accessible and houses a wet room changing facility with a ceiling hoist.  The group enjoy a range of community projects, including a series of creative workshops at Holly Lodge in Richmond Park.

People joining the base are also able to make use of other resources of the charity, including evening/weekend respite, music therapy services, and sensory room and gardens at 21 Church Lane.

Most people access the service through a social work referral, but the service also accepts direct referrals (both self-funders and people in receipt of a local authority/NHS personal budget), continuing care referrals, and referrals from outside of the borough.
