Outcome of the statutory consultation on sufficiency of school places for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND)

On 9th September 2021, Wandsworth Council consulted on proposals to meet the need for increased school places for children with SEND. These proposals included opening new resource bases in Granard and Swaffield Primary Schools, as well as expanding the number of places at Garratt Park Special School. In addition, the Governing Board of Saint John Bosco College, with the support of Wandsworth Council, consulted on proposals to make changes to their two existing resource bases.

The consultations closed on 7th October 2021.  The outcomes were extremely positive as the overwhelming majority of the 43 respondents were supportive and welcomed the additional local provision for children with SEND. The Council has now approved the proposals.  The report setting out the approval is available to download.
