Carney's Community - Coronavirus

Carney's Community, a registered charity, gets disadvantaged and excluded young people off the street and away from a life of crime and despair by giving them skills, discipline and self respect.

They now offer:

  • Most face to face work has been put on hold, although we do have some staff supporting a few participants (with SEN or disabilities), on a one to one or one to two basis (if they live in the same house estate), in the open and following all Goverment guidance
  • One to one support for most in need via phone and social media
  • Instagram home work-outs released daily on our Instagram page that can be copied at home. These are for anyone of any ability and include warm up exercises, basic fitness, boxing fitness and challenges like "how many press ups can you do in 1 minute"
  • 30 minute live workouts on our Carney's Coaches Instagram live every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sundays at 6pm. Again this is targeted at people of all abilities and is generally either boxing, fitness or yoga based.
  • Youth work whatsapp group: Through this we are arranging FIFA tournaments, quizzes etc
  • Zoom youth club and fitness group sessions (invite only)
  • General wellbeing support for participants and families (such as the wellbeing pack attached)
  • Some food deliveries to those most in need.
