Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET)

The term NEET refers to young people aged 16 to 24 years not in education, employment or training. This group is often diverse but tends to comprise young people with few or no qualifications and those with a health problem, disability or low aspirations.  There are however some groups that are at greater risk of becoming NEET.

In Wandsworth, there are now a range of activities/ programmes funded through the European Social Fund (ESF) specifically, to support the 16-19 year NEET group.

These include:

  • apprenticeships;
  • work based learning/ training and
  • volunteering

For more information about these, please contact the 14-19 Developments Team direct or search for apprenticeships and training on this website.
