Get Set GO 2019! Next steps into Adulthood for young people, aged 14-25 with special needs and disabilities (SEND). This free event at Wandsworth's Civic Suite, SW18 2PU, jointly organised by Wandsworth Council and South Thames College, with funding from Wandsworth Ambitions Careers Cluster, and support from Positive Parent Action, is for young people, 14-25 with SEND, their parents/carers and other service providers, and professionals.
It is also serves as part of Wandsworth Council’s continued drive to support young people into suitable education, employment and training provision.

With more stands, workshops and presentations than last year’s excellent event, this year it will cover Health, Housing and Social Activitie, along with Employment.

11 am to 12 noon, Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) about the Role of the Job Centre which will cover:
- What is the Job Centre about?
- Universal Credit – How to apply
- Employers & Access to Work
- PIP (Personal Independence Payments) Process
12 noon to 1pm, 0 to 25 Disabilities Team on Getting Support from Social Services which will cover:
- Financial Assessments
- Personal Budgets
1 pm to 2pm Zach Esdaile, Planning for the Future Legal Workshop on:
- Powers of Attorney
- Housing Tenure
Individual cases will not be discussed during the workshops, but attendees can speak to staff on the relevant stalls.
This event will demonstrate the various routes young people can take into education, employment, training, independent travel, independent living, health support, money and benefits, social life and more.
Schools can bring groups of students aged from 14 to 19. Young people 14 to 25 years old, at out of borough schools or colleges, parents, carers, professionals, employers, teachers, providers and trainers will join us for this exciting event.
This event follows on from the last three year's successful Get Set GO! events. We will have a range of exhibitors covering a wide offer of provision and services. These will include education, traineeships, housing options, health information, benefits and social life. You can attend all or just part of the event.
There will be workshops and inspiring talks from young people about their routes to work, social lives and more.
